Incorporate Botox Into Your Beauty Routine

Do you struggle with wrinkles, fine lines, and saggy skin? Well, join the club.

As you age, your skin begins to show the consequences of all that fun in the sun you had when you were young. Fine lines, sagging skin around the mouth, and deep wrinkles begin to form. Collagen loss, cellular changes, and constant frowning and smiling also contribute to facial signs of aging.

Luckily, adding Botox® injections to your beauty routine can erase many of those nagging signs of aging. Our doctors at Rapaport Dermatology are experts in Botox® and all the ways it can make your face look young again.

What Is Botox?

Botox® Cosmetic is an injectable that uses a neurotoxin to temporarily paralyze facial muscles. It is the constant contraction of these muscles that leads to those fine lines and wrinkles and adds years to your appearance. Botox® is the only FDA-approved treatment to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet.

Botox® treatment has been supported by more than 15 years of clinical studies, and it is embraced as a cosmetic treatment in 96 countries.

In addition to using Botox to treat wrinkles, Dr. Vicki Rapaport uses Botox® for these beauty needs.

  • To smooth skin on your throat and jaw by targeting muscles in your chin and neck
  • To create a thinner face by relaxing your jaw muscles
  • To prevent frown lines from developing by relaxing muscles in your forehead and around your eyes and mouth

The Botox Procedure

Your typical Botox® Cosmetic treatment takes place in your doctor’s office and takes 5-15 minutes. You will probably need a series of injections to get the look you want.

During your Botox® treatment, your doctor uses a tiny needle to deliver the Botox® to exactly the right place. The results are natural-looking, not the frozen appearance that is a dead giveaway that you have had “work” done on your face. In fact, you will look like yourself after a Botox® treatment, only younger and healthier looking.

Botox® treatments require no downtime; you can go about your normal life immediately afterward. You might have a little redness or soreness after having injections, but these side effects typically fade within a few hours. You can expect to see initial results from Botox® quickly because it takes only a day or two for your muscles to relax and your skin to smooth out.

Botox® results are temporary and typically last for up to four months. To keep up the results, you should incorporate the injections into your regular beauty routine.
